Well, we didn't get nominated for any of the Mod of the Year awards, but that's ok, because it's Christmas time! Santa Samus wishes that all your wishes come true, or something. Have a fun vacation!
Here's a little video I put together:

Metroid Online - Public Release
^ Click for Bigger Size ^
Well, today is the last day of the weekend, and we, as promised, have a release ready. We are doing something different, releasing a Release Candidate 1 of our two maps, Isolation and Tallon IV Overworld. This is so we can test out the gameplay and get feedback from everyone, we can find out how to improve our mod, and it will give us some additional time to tweak everything. We wanted to get Phendrana out for you guys and girls as well, but it just wasn't in the cards.
I hope to see you all online soon! I'll be working with some people to get an official server up. Enjoy the maps, test them out in the mean time!
Also, Metroid Database interviewed me prior to the release, check it out! (Special Thanks to
Captain Commando!)

Metroid Online - Preparing for Release
^ Click for Bigger Size ^
It all comes down to this, I guess. We are finishing up Phendrana this week, and will be releasing this weekend. We've been testing the mod to make sure everything is working fine, and it seems to be playing great. The beams/missiles are balanced well, and mod itself is a lot of fun.
This video was made by SonicXtreme, as he has been helping us test too, and we wanted to get together a video of the other two maps; Isolation (It says Derelict on the video) and the revised version of Tallon IV:
The contest I have yet to set up a way to make it happen, but I pretty much have an idea of what I want to give out. I have a signed History DVD, a Metroid Online keychain, that copy of Halo PC, and I might give away a copy of Halo 2 for the PC as well. I'm also contemplating giving away a metroid plush that I've been working on, but I have to see if it's easy for me to make another one (I would like to keep one for myself too! lol)

Metroid Online - Phendrana Shorelines
^ Click for Bigger Size ^
We are currently texturing the map and putting it ingame. The mod, albeit a few tweaks, is totally done. We just need a fitting map to play it in, and Phendrana Drifts/Shorelines is that map.
Also, it came down to whether or not it would work, and unfortunately, we did have to drop the morphball from the mod. The script just will not work online, ever. We tried our hardest, but I believe that from a gameplay standpoint, it will be for the better, as this will avoid alt-spamming such as is found in Metroid Prime: Hunters.
Lastly, the Contest(Drawing) for a copy of Halo PC and some other undetermined prizes will begin when the first beta of Phendrana Drifts takes place, as we will be releasing soon thereafter.

Metroid Online - Revised Mod Video
^ (Click for Wallpaper-size Download) ^
A tale of Beams, Missiles, and Morphballs..
This is a video of our revised mod. Every beam is in this video, and the mod itself is almost done. We just need to tweak some behind-the-scenes things, fix the HUD, and perfect some cosmetics.
Also in this video is some footage of some testing we were doing with the Wave Beam, and lastly, some personal time with the Metroid Oddball.
Enjoy:
Information regarding the contest/drawing for a free copy of Halo PC will be posted soon. ^_^

Metroid Online - Power Beam, Havoc Beam, Wave Beam, Missiles, and a Metroid Oddball
Thanks to Teh_Lag's diligent work lately, we have almost all the beams done and looking good. As the title suggests, this video showcases all the beams except for the Plasma, which we are still trying to work out the kinks with the contrail and effects. It also shows off the new missile and it's detonation effect.
Also new entirely, and your first time seeing it ever, is the Metroid oddball which will also double as the colored flags. It has an animated holographic field around the container and the Metroid inside is animated. It's awesome to finally have our concept to come to life and looking great! Sorry, no close-up, but you'll be seeing it in person soon enough.

Metroid Online - Wave Beam Video
An in-game test in the tutorial level with the new Wave Beam. New sounds, charging effects, and missile animation. Contrail is temporary and missile (you'll see) is obviously temporary.
SPECIAL PROPS TO TEH LAG FOR BEING AWESOME AND REDOING THE CANNON!
Enjoy! This is the best our mod's looked yet:

The History of Metroid Online
A video regarding the history of Metroid Online, the most successful Metroid mod for ANY engine currently available. This video dips into the story behind the scenes, shows off pictures that were never-before-seen, and pokes at some errors that we've endured in the past as well. This is our story, this is our history, this is Metroid Online:
It's about 30 mins long, so for those who would like to save it for later: Click Here to Download

How I play game?!
I get so many questions from people asking how they can actually play Metroid Online in it's current state. Granted, the project isn't completed yet, but we want you to enjoy what we currently have available. The following is a mini-guide of how to play Metroid Online:
How do I play Metroid Online?
Here's what you need:
Take map(s) and put them into your maps folder (Default is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps)
Have fun! Start up the game, select one of the maps and start your own Internet game, or just join someone else's!

Morphball Video!
Here's the morphball showcase video I promised you. You will see entry, exit, and the glowing trail effect of the morphball, and even though the morphball is quite slow right now, it's bomb makes up for it's lack of speed(we will increase the speed for the next test). As an added bonus, this video also shows a sneak peek of some of the beam cannons effects we are currently working on. These beams are strictly alpha and will go through a significant amount of change before release, so don't worry.
More information to come soon, as I just got my computer fixed, and up and running!

Metroid Online is back!
Well, we are back with a vengeance. Considering it will just further our progress in our conversion to Halo 2 Vista, we decided to just push onward, regardless of the difficulty of making this mod in CE. In doing so, we did the impossible: The morphball now works, online, anytime you want. Mad props to our new team member/accomplice Kirby. His most well known map was Sonic, Mario, etc - where I gave him permission to use our armcannon models from our frosthaven build. Regardless, he got the morphball working, and that pretty HUD you see above.
My computer is currently out of commission, but when I have it back up and working, I will post a video of the morphball working. Scouts honor!
Just wanted to let you guys know that the project has since been put on hold until Halo 2 Vista comes out, and we have moved the project to that platform. Enjoy the beta that we have up for download for the time being, and check out my new site http://www.gameonwii.com for some up-to-date Wii news.
Until then, cya!

Nintendo Wii Info (Price/Release Date) and new Metroid Prime 3 Footage
The Wii comes packed with the Wii Sports - Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Bowling, and Boxing. Launch titles are looking to be substantial, with 30 projected titles available on launch day. Amazingly enough, it is forseen that the first Mario, Zelda, and Metroid games will be there when you walk into your preferred gaming retailer for your console. Three of the most popular Nintendo franchises available on launch day? That's unheard of. edit: that was a rumor, Zelda and Excite Truck are the only launch titles scheduled so far for launch.
Also announced and displayed at the recent conference is Wii News and Weather. Both of these channels (which can be accessed from the main menu when you turn on the console) are constantly updated by Wii's Connect24 service through your wireless or LAN connection. Something neat about Wii Weather is the fact that you can view the updated forcast - on a 3d globe of the world, spinnable and all. Wii's internet browser is the same as the DS's future browser: Opera. It will not be included with the console and will have to be bought with online points, same as the ones used to buy classic games from the Virtual Console library.
Finally, the MP3:C footage. Props to gametrailers for getting a decent resolution on their recording this time. Enjoy:

For Catherine
If you haven't seen the best movie that money could allow you to purchase, I suggest it's time you do so. Mr. Ethan Hunter has done a wonderful job in his film, which also happens to star Grant Henry
(of metroidmetal.com fame). I suggest you buy two copies, for the price of 1! Hey wait a minute, that's crazy!
But listen my forest creatures, for it is true. For Catherine (only during the month of September and as supplies last) is now selling for only $9.95, which is half the price! Buy it as an early gift for an unexpected occasion! Want some proof that your eyes will never be the same? Take a swig of this trailer:
Now go - get a copy! Time is running ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut!
Hey guys/gals, Seraphim here. Just wanted to let you all know about a cool podcast I found out my friend Tim (the original host for metroid.4lifenet.net) at mylife.4lifenet.net was making in his free time. It's called The VGM Show and just as its' acronymatic (a new word?) title suggests, it's a podcast that includes video game music and news about video games. The following is the official information which includes links and a hotlink to the podcast in iTunes' store:
The VGM Show is a show I created to represent two of my passions: video games, and their music. As a gamer, I listen to lots of music (especially very loud and upbeat music during PvP in World of Warcraft), but my favorite kind of music comes from the video games themselves.
The VGM Show contains video game music. From the classical music in the games themselves, to remixes representing these games. I also give bits of news from the gaming world, and perhaps plugs, reviews, and more from the gaming world. I’ve yet to flesh out all I’m going to do with the show, but I’m up for suggestion.
Speaking of suggestion, I’m always open for suggestions and comments, and I welcome your ideas and requests for what I can do and what songs I can play! I encourage you to e-mail me at TSH4Life@gmail.com with any questions, comments, suggestions and requests you may have!
Subscribe
If you’d like to subscribe to The VGM Show, please copy the following URL and paste it into your RSS Aggregator/Podcast applicaton (I recommend iTunes for ease of use):
http://www.zomgrei.com/vgmshow/podcast.xml
iTunes users can click the link below to be taken directly to the Podcast’s subscription page in iTunes!
If you’re lazy and don’t want to go through all the hoo-ha of subscribing to the podcast, you can download each episode individually. Just right-click the link of the episode you want and choose “Save Target As…” or whatever similar item is on that menu.
It's unfortunate that it had to come to this (mainly because I wanted to allow my mailing list subscribers to be the first to test), but TallonIV was released without our intention. As far as I know, it was uploaded to the popular site www.halomaps.org on 07/06/06 by a person claiming to be me and was followed by a very poor description claiming the map to be finished, etc.
The good news for you is that you guys get an unpolished beta early. There are no morphballs, the missiles don't work, death animations are messed up, a hard fall will make you stunned for a couple seconds, and generally slayer is the only gametype you can use.
We have pretty much come up with our final arsenal for the mod. We will be having 4 beams: havoc, plasma, wave, and power. The difference with the plasma this time around is that it has a sniper scope. Missiles will be in place of grenades, and will spawn (along with a health orb) when you kill someone. We are also going to have a grapple beam as an alternate weapon (meaning you can use it even with another weapon equipped) and it will be able to latch onto grapple points and other players.
Samus' gunship will be in our TallonIV map as cover and a base, the opposite base for the other team will be behind the waterfall. Wall-jumping is a possibility with a well layed-out level design, it is yet to be determined if the need for it is really there.
Phil is a genius with graphics and coding. We have a new forum, and it's way better than before. It's a clean slate to work with too! Go check it out and post your comments and suggestions and make it your second home.
Well, it's been fun, but I guess all good things do come to an end. I came home today and my computer was blue-screened and was making a loud buzzing noise. What that means to you guys is no more webcam.
I played Super Mario Sunshine, Billy Hatcher, and beat both Metroid Prime 1 and 2 on there. It was fun while it lasted, but I don't think I want to chance any damage to my computer. Thanks for watching it while it was up, hopefully I'll have something soon to pique your interest in our project once more ;-)
Yes, yes, YES! Metroid Prime 3: Corruption footage, for your viewing pleasure (finally found a decent resolution of it):
Contains the following:
Grappling Pull
New missile system
An appearance by a new "Hunter"
Boss Battle against Ridley (at the end)

Time To Educate Yourselves, A Lesson From Uncle Seraphim:
If you haven't seen the "Metroid Manga" yet, you need to. I'm going to go ahead and nudge you in the right direction by linking you directly to the PDF's (You will need Acrobat Reader) that I recently created of the manga itself. This e-manga originally came from the Japanese Metroid's site, and was then converted by Mechadrake.

Mailing List
Well, the time that you all have been waiting for is here. We here at the Metroid Online Map Team have decided to release a public beta. It will contain only the power beam cannon and missiles, and be in one of our currently existing maps. Being as it is a "public beta", you really don't need to register or anything, however.. if you would like to be one of the first people to know when it's out, please join our mailing list below. Hey, we might even tell the people on there before we slap the info all over the front page ;-)
We'll try to get it out as soon as possible for you guys. :D

New Map: Station
This map was inspired/based off of a map from the Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt (The demo game that came with the DS). It was one of the multiplayer maps available in the game.
Modelled, lighted, and textured by Lightning, this map will focus on arena fighting, similar to some of the existing maps found on CE. As we don't have any official information regarding the backstory of this map , it is simply a research station for now, probably used for studying alien species.. or something like that.
Now for the eye candy:

New Wallpaper
We have a new wallpaper over at our downloads section. This is an ingame picture taken by Seraphim during the beta we had the other night.
What's this?! A new site design. Seraphim kept me locked up giving me brutal orders, but I pulled through, and I'm done. You see that banner? That's our biped, which you will see in the game, and that's our logo made by our very own Wannakissamus, who won the logo contest. We also got a new domain, thanks to Seraphim.
To continue the tradition of giving you guys updates (atleast) monthly,
we got another one for you this month. We have pictures of Tallon IV Overworld, our latest and greatest map, modelled by Scooby, textured by Lightning. You can also see the HUD in the first picture, and the "Metroid" door in the last, modelled and animated by yours truly (thanks again to 'lights for the textures). We are almost done with the project, and look forward to meeting you online in our maps soon. Thanks again for being the supportive followers you are, and tell your friends:
Metroid Online is coming..

Updates, updates, who's got the update?
Amazingly enough, we ARE still alive. Our main modder quit, and despite that fact, we are still going to finish this mod, one way or another. To update you guys on some recent happenings, I guess it's time to show you what Samus looks like (in green biped character) in-game:

Edible Wallpaper and Technical Difficulties
"The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!"
To make up for the lack of updates on the beta test (we've been having some technical difficulties), we decided that we would atleast let you see what our biped looks like textured.
EDIT: 3 wallpapers are now available for you in the downloads section.
The map is a lost haven for the Chozo, and was set up as a practice battle grounds where Samus could hone her skills to defeat the space pirates. It has long since been closed down, and what's left is the ruins of their sanctuary, an arena, and statues that were placed to guard their holy grounds.
And if all goes well, we'll be beta testing this map tonight, so check for a new video later on.
